Spring Break Griffin Style

Today is the first morning of the kid's spring break.  We had an Oregon style snow storm which is always really beautiful plus it means we get all pumped over the possibility of canceled school and sport activities.  Somehow the 3 inches of snow equate into feet as far as the children are concerned.  Who knew you could build snowmen out of mere inches?

Well, despite the snow my children have woken up already mad each other.  Accusations began to fly, blame for a broken helicopter and the like.  This quickly morphed into screaming and then not be outdone, shoving 'consummated' the event.

I found myself acting as a human shield between 2 children lunging at one another.  What in the world?  Anyway, I separated them in order calm both down and to allow me to yell  speak to them individually.

After, I called both into the living room together after announcing there was going to be a 'shakedown' in the house, whatever shakedown means.  I don't know, it was the first thing that came to my head.  I'm not going into how I handled it because I don't want to be judged as a parent but let's just say I gave them a choice.  If they chose the bad I had a list of events I would cancel plus many, many extra 'projects' to complete.  Alternatively if they chose the good...you know the rest.  Basically it was a choose heaven or hell kind of situation.  :)

I started breaking out in hives AGAIN.  I think it is because I haven't had coffee yet or because I didn't shave my legs, whatever it was I don't like waking up with lips that look like I had a collagen overdose.  On the other though, at least it was free.

The kids are out playing in the snow and yes, I locked the door behind them.  Now the question.  Do I answer when they ring the doorbell?
