Our New Addition

Well, we finally did it. We went to get Jaimey her new little rat today. Jaimey lost her dear Sophie in August and as a family we decided to wait until January before we revisited adopting another one. Jaimey was very patient, albeit eager, to take care of another critter. Sophie brought her a lot of joy and Jaimey has a lot of love to give so it is fitting she should have her own little pet.

We went to Critter Cabana up in Newberg where they offer adoptions and Jaimey picked out her new friend.

Welcome Miss Winifred Sophia Griffin, aka Winnie. She is only 6 weeks old and sweet as a dumpling! She is very docile and a little uncertain but she loves to be cuddled and has really taken to Jaimey. They have become fast friends.

Will is now a daddy, as he likes to call his title in relation to Winnie. She can be a bit of a squirmer so it was hard to take a good photo with my sad photo taking skills!

Jaimey is signing her adoption agreement, stating that she will be a wonderful caregiver to Winnie.

Here is Winnie settling in at home, under Jaimey's hair! Not to freak anyone out but rats really love to burrow and cuddle with their owners, much to Jaimey's delight.

Winnie in her new digs. Currently she is so small she can squeeze through the bars of her cage so we have to be especially careful she doesn't head out on a solo adventure under Jaimey's bed or something. If that were the case, I think she would be lost forever in the rubble!
